The court case in which the Heavens Ark Housing Organisation, a community housing initiative in Otjomuise is accusing a businessman, Stephan Malan of defrauding them has been postponed to 23 June.

The Windhoek Magistrate's Court has postponed the case of these Otjomuise residents for the umpteenth time, for the Prosecutor General's decision.

These state-of-the-art accommodation facilities are situated in the disputed land of these disgruntled residents.

The case, which has been running for close to five years now, is between members of the Heavens Ark Housing Organistion, who are accusing a businessman, Stephan Malan of having defrauded them.

"What happened is that we went into partnership with Mr. Stephan Malan to build our houses and all of a sudden we found out that he stole our land from us and we never got our homes until now. The case is postponed until the 23rd of June for PG's decision and we believe that justice will prevail because we believe in the justice system of Namibia and we will get our homes because we want our land back to build our homes".

During a brief court session, the Magistrate informed those present, that the court is awaiting the Prosecutor General's decision, but clearly stating that this will be the final postponement.

Representing Malan, lawyer Sarel Marittz from Dr Weder, Kauta and Hoveka law firm welcomed the final postponement saying he wants the case to be completed soonest.

The affected residents want their land back and allocate it to their landless members.

23 June holds the key as to whether their demands and expectations will be met.
