Telecom Namibia has launched a five-year strategic plan to address customers' frustrations with failing internet connectivity.
The business plan will also enable every Namibian to access reliable, speedy, and affordable internet connectivity.
The digital transformation with modern billing and customer relationship management systems will enable Telecom Namibia to improve service delivery, increase its market share, and establish data analytical capability.
The business plan will also, among other things, allow customers to electronically settle their accounts, offer a 24-hour service, and better communicate with customers.
Telecom Namibia's Board Chairperson, Melkizedek Uupindi, says the business plan is a new way to a digital future for Namibia.
Uupindi mentioned that to have a successful business plan, Telecom Namibia requires about N$2,3 billion over a period of 2023–2027.
"Our ISBP for the period starting in 2023 to 2027 is based on the following pillars: the first pillar talks about sustainable growth; the second talks about customer experience; the third talks about operational efficiency; and the fourth talks about performance culture."
During the launch of the business strategic plan, Telecon Namibia signed a N$327 million contract with the Spanish company, Sistemas Avanzados de Technogia, which specialises in technological solutions.
The Deputy Minister of Finance, Maureen Hinda-Mbuende, says Telecom Namibia's plan is a path leading to Namibia's Fourth Industrial Revolution and will allow easy access to the use of ICT services.
"Telecom's plan is aimed at achieving the government's development plans insofar as they relate to access to and the use of ICT services and products. Indeed, with this Strategic Plan, Telecom Namibia is turning a new leaf."
