Okahandja Municipality unveils five-year strategic plan

In an effort to improve the lives of Okahandja residents, the town's municipality has launched a five-year strategic plan.

The strategic plan aims to provide basic and affordable service to residents, and accelerate land and housing delivery as well as water provision to the residents. 

The plan includes granting 5,000 families security of tenure, while 705 families will receive erven.

In addition, it will also bring infrastructure and institutional development.

Urban agriculture growing in Swakopmund

Urban agriculture is growing in Swakopmund as the municipality and some learning institutions continue to empower residents through the allocation of more land.

Urban agriculture is a particular focus area in the Swakopmund Municipality's strategic plan.

The Municipality and stakeholders, including the Government of Japan, initiated the Build Back Better Urban Agriculture Project at Swakopmund.

Since 2020, the project has recorded bumper harvests and expanded access to housing for residents who are from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Telecom to address customers' frustrations

Telecom Namibia has launched a five-year strategic plan to address customers' frustrations with failing internet connectivity.

The business plan will also enable every Namibian to access reliable, speedy, and affordable internet connectivity.

The digital transformation with modern billing and customer relationship management systems will enable Telecom Namibia to improve service delivery, increase its market share, and establish data analytical capability.

Namibia Deposit Guarantee Authority launches three year strategic plan

The Namibia Deposit Guarantee Authority (NDGA) launched its three year strategic plan, covering 2023 to 2025 in Windhoek. 

The strategic plan will ensure effective collaboration among stakeholders and continuous public engagement. 

The Namibia Deposit Guarantee Authority aims to protect small depositors from losing their savings, by compensating them in the event of a commercial bank failure.
