With the new school year just a weekend away, parents and guardians are making last-minute preparations for their children's uniform and stationery needs.

Stores that stock stationery, school uniforms, and other necessities were packed with learners, parents, and guardians doing their last-minute shopping.

Long lines were the order of the day on Saturday as parents ensured that they bought all the required school supplies.

Across all stores that sold school stationery this weekend, parents and guardians bought books, book covers, pens, and pencils, making sure that their children are ready for school come Monday.

One parent doing last-minute shopping says the exercise is stressful.

However, she is determined to find all the items, as she just started buying everything today.

Another says getting ready to go back to school is expensive, although the government has extended its hands to help parents buy books.
