The Mbambazi community in the Judea Lyamboloma Constituency of the Zambezi Region is in dire need of potable water.

The district Headman of the area, Leonard Shitaa Limbo, calls on the government to attend to the matter urgently.

Limbo says the community suffers frequent interruptions in the water supply, pointing out that in the last 30 years, uninterrupted water supply has hardly lasted for a week.

The community is now forced to use water that is not fit for human consumption, and community members feel left out.

Contacted for comment, Judea Lyabboloma Constituency Councillor, Hamphrey Divai, says he is aware of the situation caused by a diesel-powered water pump that suffers frequent breakdowns.

Divai has assured the community that the water crisis at Mbambazi will be something of the past soon, as plans to drill a borehole in the area are at an advanced stage.
