Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, in a moving address at Statehouse, paid tribute to the late President Geingob. 

Describing him as a compassionate leader who was dedicated to serving and uplifting others and an administrator, the public servants who diligently served the nation. 

In honouring President Geingob's memory, Kuugongelwa-Amadhila urged citizens to persist in their pursuit of unity and unwavering commitment to national endeavours, carrying forward the legacy of a leader who left an indelible mark on the nation.

"Dr. Geingob was a mentor who championed the establishment of the public service on a solid foundation that has put it on pause to support our country's efforts towards development, good governance, and social justice for all. Dr. Geingob inspired us in the public service to embrace the principles and core values of the Namibian Public Service Charter, which he championed. Therefore, let us commit ourselves as public servants to continue serving based on the principles and values of taking responsibility for our actions, being honest, and ensuring that systems and procedures are rule-compliant and treat others with respect."

The Minister of Mines and Energy, Tom Alweendo, also giving his tribute, urged citizens to remember the late President Geingob with hearts filled with gratitude. 

He encouraged everyone to honour the late President Geingob by actively contributing to the realisation of his vision for a united Namibia, fostering a sense of unity and collective dedication to the shared goals that President Geingob worked tirelessly to achieve.

"Let us be grateful for the life of our late President, who lived amongst us and walked with purpose towards his vision of a united Namibia. He steered us to where we are now and, most importantly, cleared the path for where we are headed. What a privilege it has been to be blessed with a president who inspired us to look ahead, inspired us to rise from our past, and pushed forward the greatness that he thought was within each of us. To Madam Monica Geingos and the entire family, your loss is a loss for all of us."
