The people of the Oshana Region came together to offer fitting tributes to the late President Hage Geingob during the region's memorial service held at Ongwediva.

Those in attendance hailed him as a jack of all trades and a master of all for his unmatched leadership skills that brought immense benefits to the region and the nation.

The memorial service, which was preceded by a church service, was attended by political and traditional leaders, the business community, and the general public.

All 11 of the region's constituencies were represented to honour the legacy of President Geingob. and reflect on his multifaceted talents and exceptional leadership qualities.

Throughout the region, he was known not only as a political figure but also as a visionary, a unifier, and a beacon of progress.

Oshana Governor Elia Irimari is one of the young governors appointed by the late president in 2019.

The tributes highlighted his ability to navigate diverse challenges and bring about positive change in various spheres.

From politics to economics, from diplomacy to community development, he left an indelible mark.

Through his strategic vision and inclusive leadership style, the Swapo Party is not only mourning the president of the country but also its leader.

Its regional coordinator, Werner Iita, says the region is saddened by his death but is grateful that he led the country and party with accolades.
