President Nangolo Mbumba says the loss resulting from the death of Malawi's Vice President, Dr. Saulos Chilima, will not only be felt by the people of Malawi but by the entire African continent.
Dr. Mbumba reacted to the tragic deaths of Chilima and nine other Malawi nationals in a military aircraft crash on Monday.
In a statement, President Mbumba said that it was unfortunate that Vice President Saulos Chilima passed on at a time when he still had so much to offer to the people of Malawi and Africa.
He says he had known the late Chilima as a leader with a deep affection for the people of Malawi and the SADC region.
The Namibian leader extends heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Lazarus Chakwera, the bereaved Chilima families, and the entire nation of Malawi during this difficult period of untold grief.
Dr. Mbumba emphasised that Namibia stands in solidarity with the courageous people of Malawi, keeping them in prayer during this horrendous chapter in that country's history.
