The Swapo Party Youth League held a question-and-answer session with the Vice President and party presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, at Rundu.
The session provided a platform for the youth to express their thoughts, concerns, and aspirations.
Questions asked covered challenges faced by youth, such as education, student life, and unemployment.
"Young people are the heartbeat of our nation; their energy, creativity, and innovative spirit are the driving forces behind progress and change. By providing a platform for direct engagement with our leaders, we are not only empowering the youth but also reaching our democratic processes," said Anselm Marungu, SPYL Secretary in the Kavango East Region.
Vice President Nandi-Ndaitwah reassured them of the government's efforts to address challenges faced by young people and the education sector.
The education sector was allocated N$20.83 billion in the current financial year, which accounts for 27.3% of the national budget.
"As a policy, we also went further to say that any Namibian student who qualifies for the benefits of the Namibian student's financial assistance must benefit from that, but of course, the government and the nation have to meet one another, so, therefore, some parents also have a responsibility for those who are in a certain bracket of income to meet the government halfway by funding their own children to complete their studies."
Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah said the government has also made provision for students with debts to either write exams or access their qualifications.
Another matter raised is the work experience needed for a student to land a job.
The question-and-answer session with the Vice President is set to be a series and will take place in different towns.
