The Swapo Party regional coordinator, Matheus Mumbala, said during a meeting at Keetmanshoop over the weekend that the preparations for the upcoming elections in November are in full swing as the party continues to campaign for its presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
Speaking during the nomination process of potential electoral college candidates, Mumbala reiterated that the Swapo Party will make history with the swearing-in of the first female President of the country.
"We are preparing for a crucial moment in our party's history, the renewal of the Swapo Party-led government come the November 27, 2024 elections. We will ensure that the Swapo Party and its Presidential Candidate, our able Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, emerge victorious come March 21, 2025. The nation and international will witness the swearing-in of the first female president at Independence Stadium in the land of the Brave."
Gaudentia Khrone, a Swapo Party Central Committee member and one of the leaders assigned to the ||Kharas Region at the meeting, says that the theme that guides the Swapo Party 2024 election campaign is a clear testament to the commitment the party holds to youth development and economic emancipation.
"The theme encapsulates our unwavering commitment to harnessing Namibia's abandoned resources for the betterment of all citizens, with a special emphasis on our youth as the driving force of our future, but our duty extends beyond rhetoric; we must actively encourage every eligible citizen to register and exercise their right to vote. By doing so, we actively shape the destiny of our beloved Namibia."
Six candidates, consisting of three males and three females from the ||Kharas Region who will be nominated to the electoral college are Magrietha Waters, Clemencia Coetzee, Aletha Frederick, Simon Nambodi, Henry Meintjies, and Francis Shamu.
