Learners of Shuumbwa Combined School in the Oshikoto Region urged their fellow learners to surround themselves with positive people.

They made the remarks at the commemoration of the Day of the Namibian Child.

Grade 7 learner Tangeni Evelino informed fellow learners to surround themselves with positivity and people who want to succeed in life.

Another learner, Ndapandula Velukoshi, explained the significance of the day for the Namibian child.

Guinas Councillor Marthinus Kainda has called on Namibian children to be responsible and urged them to take their academic work seriously.

The Day of the Namibian Child highlighted issues affecting children and emphasised the importance of their rights and well-being. 

It's a time for advocacy and reflection on the challenges that children face in the country.
