The Southern African Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF) has officially established its Trust Fund Board, electing National Assembly Speaker Prof. Peter Katjavivi as Chairperson. The Trust Fund Board elected Angolan MP Nacilia Gomes da Silva Troso as Deputy Chairperson.

Other members of the Board of Trustees include Pedro Sebastiao from Angola and Leon Tumba Mukendi from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, along with financial experts from regional banking institutions.

The election occurred during a meeting of the trust’s successors, further solidifying the governance framework for the SADC-PF Trust Fund.

Since its establishment in 2021, the fund has focused on mobilising resources to support strategic initiatives, particularly as SADC-PF advances its transformation into a regional parliament.

Prof. Katjavivi described the board's formal constitution as crucial, noting its significance in ensuring a smooth transition and operational efficiency. Angolan trustee Pedro Sebastiao underscored the value of a formal financial structure in promoting transparency and accountability.
