The Windhoek High Court will deliver its judgement in a case brought by Swapo Central Committee member Charles Mubita against party member Reinhold Shipwiikineni on the 28th of January.
Mubita filed the defamation lawsuit after Shipwiikineni allegedly made defamatory remarks in a Swapo WhatsApp group, according to court documents dated 12 March.
Shipwiikineni purportedly claimed that Mubita was being "used like toilet paper" by individuals accused of undermining Swapo's principles and violating its constitution.
Shipwiikineni, also known as 'Iita Nayitsikile,' has denied directly calling Mubita "toilet paper."
Instead, he insists his comment was a permissible political figure of speech, accusing Mubita of being manipulated by those acting against the party's values.
In response, Shipwiikineni asked the Windhoek High Court last year in August to dismiss Mubita's lawsuit, which seeks damages amounting to N$370,000.
