NamWater has reported an increase in dam water levels across the north-central regions, marking a positive stride towards water security for communities, agriculture, and industries.

According to the weekly dam bulletin released on 13 January, the total dam volume has increased to an impressive average capacity of 95.2%.

The record inflows include the Calueque Dam, now standing at 100 percent, Olushandja at 40.7 percent, and Million Dam at 78 percent.

While celebrating these developments, NamWater has urged residents and stakeholders to practice responsible water usage.

In the southern part of the country, NamWater has conducted an assessment of the Hardap Dam's water availability and its potential to meet both irrigation and potable water demands.

The analysis determined that irrigation water from the Hardap Dam will be reduced to 80 percent of arable land until July 2025 while maintaining sufficient potable water for Materiental and surrounding communities.
