NamWater makes plans to restore water in Northern regions

NamWater continues the battle to provide water to the northern regions, a situation that has severely impacted humans and livestock in especially remote rural areas.

Namwater Chief Executive Officer Abraham Nehemia says water from the canal has finally reached Oshakati for treatment before it can be distributed.

Residents were for the past month forced to travel long distances to fetch water, some for both household consumption and for their animals.

NSA commends public's cooperation during census

The Namibia Statistics Agency has commended people in the northern regions for their cooperation since the commencement of the census two weeks ago.

Its Deputy Statistician General, Ottilie Mwazi, singled out the Oshana, Ohangwena, Oshikoto, and Omusati Regions.

In an interview with nbc News, Mwazi acknowledged that while certain segments of society have shown resistance, there has been a general willingness to participate in the Census exercise in the northern regions.

Swapo Party Youth League advocates for construction of referral hospital

The Swapo Party Youth League has called on the government to start with the construction of a referral hospital in the northern regions to alleviate the growing congestion of patients at the Central and Katutura State hospitals.

The league's Secretary for Information, Publicity, and Mobilisation, Moses Shikerete, listed a range of issues that the latest Swapo Congress has decided on but that remain unattended.
