NAMCOL registration for both Grade 11 and 12 learners will start on Monday 20 January throughout the country.
Many Namibian learners who do not pass Grades 11 or 12 often see NAMCOL as a second opportunity to improve their symbols in some subjects.
Acting CEO at NAMCOL, Dr. Ndeshimona Afunde, says that the overall performance of learners in 2024 was not as expected.
However, they are trying to come up with strategies to improve the learners' grades as well as to reduce the dropout rate at the college.
"We're really as management sitting and just trying to come up with strategies that are okay, how can we best improve what we have implemented?" We are busy with the analysis of the results currently. So we are still busy trying to analyse the outcome in order to see as to why certain centres have performed better compared to others."
The registration fee is N$150 plus an additional N$300 per subject.
Foreign students are also welcome to enrol, provided that they have gone through the process of ensuring that their documents are valid.
Dr. Afunde urges learners not to shy away from enrolling, as there is always room for improvement.
"I encourage the students to not give up. We all do fall, but the worst thing is to remain on the ground. Yes, perhaps you did not get the expected results, but this is not the end of the journey. Yes, it will take longer for you, perhaps, to achieve your dream, but go back, enrol, work harder, and reassess the approach that you had taken."
The deadline for registration is on the 5th of February.
