The bail hearing for Edward Rooi who stands accused of killing his wife and daughter in 2022 at Stinkwater continues before the Windhoek Magistrate's Court today.
Rooi faces two counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder and two counts of malicious damage to property.
When he took the stand on Thursday, Rooi informed Magistrate Rosalia Nanghali that his medical condition continues to deteriorate at the Windhoek Correctional Facility.
He said he suffers from high blood pressure, and that authorities do not always give him his medication on time, he narrated that he at some time went for three months without his medication.
Rooi further complained to the Court that corrections authorities have ignored a letter he wrote in which he sought permission to be taken to Stinkwater so he may get some of his personal belongings and documents that would enable him to argue the case.
The police allege Rooi opened fire on his family, killing his wife and daughter and injuring two other people, at farm Stinkwater near Dordabis.
Legal aid has appointed Von Wielligh Legal Practitioners to represent Rooi.
