Community members living in and around the town of Nkurenkuru, in the Kavango West Region, met at the Nkurenkuru Expo Hall to watch the live screening of the Founding President's funeral. 

The screening was organised by MICT, Kavango West. 

The MICT office in Kavango West said there are a number of people living in and around Nkurenkuru, and not everyone has access to a television. 

The screening of the funeral thus allowed those citizens who lacked the means to also follow the funeral proceedings. 

The majority of the attendees were children, and they told nbc News that they were informed by their parents and guardians to come and watch the live broadcast. 

Some locals in Kavango West did not have the opportunity to travel to Kavango East for the regional memorial service last weekend, and they say this screening was necessary.
