Motorists travelling through Uuvudhiya Constituency are urged to drive carefully due to flooded and damaged roads caused by heavy rains. Gravel roads and access routes are partly damaged, while crossing points in flood-prone areas are now inaccessible.

Constituency Councillor Timoteus Shivute said, "It has become difficult for residents to cross certain points due to the flood. The Onamutuku-Onkani road, used to access Uuvudhiya, has severe breakage. Drivers must be cautious."

Oponona is full for the first time in 11 years. Shivute urged communities of Oponona A and B to use the provided boat and wear life jackets when crossing. "People find it very difficult to cross the stream from Olushandya to Oponona. Elders collecting grants and farmers are struggling. A boat is now being used to cross."

Engombe Primary School, with 50 learners, has been closed. Community member Ndapandula Mpinge said, "We are happy with the rain but face challenges accessing clinics and Oshakati, our nearest town."

Three streams from Oponona are currently impassable. Mpinge added, "We appeal to the government to include bridges in the planned Ompundja-Onaluvanda road construction."

The rains have also brought fish, with communities seen fishing along the roads.
