Ohangwena Governor Sebastian Ndeitunga has called for unity of purpose among the regional leadership.

He said only through a united and collaborative leadership will the region make informed decisions aimed at the upliftment of the living standards of the inhabitants.

Ndeitunga delivered a speech at the Ohangwena Regional Council Strategic Plan and Validation workshop in Windhoek.

The workshop is expected to draft a five-year Strategic Plan that focuses on informed decision-making, resource allocation, and priority settings and help the regional council achieve its objectives.

Ohangwena Regional Council Chairperson Erickson Ndawanifa said the council will ensure that the public interest and development agenda are met.

He said strategic planning is critical in achieving sustainable development, improvement of service delivery and enhancement of quality of life for all residents.

"It enables us to anticipate challenges, conquer opportunities and create a clear path forward. However, the true value of strategic planning lies not only in its formulation but in its effective implementation, monitoring, and safeguarding."

Ndawanifa further encourages the drafters to rededicate their efforts to work towards a bright and prosperous future for a SMART Ohangwena.
