Street vendors in Okongo in the Ohangwena Region are expecting improved business funding criteria to benefit small businesses after the elections.

With rain showers having been received in most parts of Namibia, the ploughing season has also begun.

It is against this background that Eenhana Constituency Councillor in Ohangwena Olivia Hanghuwo is appealing to the Ministry of Agriculture to distribute more seeds.

The San communities of Epinga Village in the Omundaungilo Constituency of the Ohangwena Region are ready for elections. 

They said voting is their democratic right, and they would like to elect a leadership that will work on addressing their plights and alleviating poverty among their people.

In the Ohangwena Region, ECN Electoral Officer Henock Hanga was pleased that political parties' election observers executed their duties and observed the code of conduct.

The Ohangwena Regional Council launched its Customer Service Charter.

With the charter, the regional council says it recognises the importance of fostering community engagement and participatory governance and plans in collaboration with its stakeholders.

Namibia and Germany have co-funded two road projects in the Ohangwena Region for N$140 million. 

The communities of Omukukutu-Omboloka in Oshikunde and Omulondo-Oshuuli in Ohangwena have been crying for a better road network.

The Environment, Forestry, and Tourism Minister has called on Namibians to safeguard the environment and avoid deforestation.

Some community members from the Ohangwena Region have accused the Electoral Commission of Namibia and ECN officials of nepotism and favouritism.

This came during the testing and hiring of generators at the ECN offices in Eenhana on Monday.
