Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) Member of Parliament Rosa Mbinge-Tjeundo has raised concerns about the state of the country's education system.

Speaking during a session in the National Assembly, she noted that although education continues to receive the biggest portion of the national budget, many problems remain.

Mbinge-Tjeundo stressed that these challenges are having a direct impact on the future of Namibia's children.

Mbinge-Tjeundo said the education sector needs more support and improvements to ensure that students receive the best quality learning.

Meanwhile, Swapo Party MP Werner Iita has also, in his maiden speech, shared his thoughts on the country's finances.

He commended the Ministry of Finance for working hard to manage the country's fiscal and monetary policies since independence.

Iita said that despite economic challenges, the government continues to ensure that these policies are being handled carefully.
