President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has reappointed Ambassador Lineekela Mboti as the Focal Point and Chief Executive Officer of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) in Namibia, effective from the 1st of September.
Ambassador Mboti served in the position since 2019 on a five-year contract.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah, in a statement, lauded Ambassador Mboti's wealth of experience in international relations, diplomacy, and governance, having led the APRM Namibia chapter since April 2019.
She said during his term in office, Ambassador Mboti successfully coordinated the country’s first Country Review Report and the Targeted Review in Youth Unemployment.
As a long-serving diplomat, Ambassador Mboti holds a Master’s Degree in Diplomatic and Strategic Studies among other educational and career achievements.
Namibia acceded to the APRM in January 2017, joining other African countries.
The APRM is the African Union’s governance platform, which promotes self-assessment through peer reviews of key governance indicators.
