The Fransfontein community in Kunene have taken to the streets in protest to demand answers from the Police about the handling of the murder case of Manfried |Aib.

The 42-year-old |Aib's family have called for a re-examination into Manfried's autopsy report.

According to a petition read by the family spokesperson, Willem

|Aib, police have yet to register a murder case and arrest suspects in the brutal killing of Manfried.

Manfried was discovered in a pool of blood and with a broken arm and bruises in his house at the settlement on 24 August last month.

"We are disturbed by the way this case has been handled. We strongly object to delays, excuses and refusal to investigate properly. A full, impartial and transparent investigation into the death of Manfried |Aib must be conducted without delays. Officers who refused to register the case or tried to block the investigation must be held accountable."

The family is also demanding that a second autopsy be conducted and the removal of police and medical officials who initially handled the case.

"We request a second, independent autopsy to be conducted on the full body of the deceased, as the first autopsy reportedly focused on the head, while they see the body and that the arm is broken and the eye is pulled into the skull and the left hand has stabbing marks and the whole body has severe wounds."

The petition was received by Fransfontein Police Station commander, Luciano Goseb.

"Thank you for the petition, and I will forward it to the relevant authorities in Opuwo and make sure your requirement (enquiries) will be met."

The family has given police until 19 September for feedback on arrangements for a new autopsy and an update on possible arrests.
