Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has reiterated the government's commitment to supporting initiatives that foster growth and youth development.

The premier made the remarks during a fundraising dinner for the hosting of the third Ogongo Annual Festival, scheduled for December.

Dr. Ngurare emphasised the importance of empowering the youth and promoting entrepreneurship, highlighting the government's role in creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

He encouraged stakeholders to collaborate in driving initiatives that benefit the youth, adding that "Development is a shared responsibility. It cannot be achieved by the government alone. It requires a partnership between government, regional councils, traditional authorities, the private sector, and community organisations, such as the Ogongo Social Foundation. I therefore call upon businesspeople and local entrepreneurs to continue standing with their communities to support events like this festival and to invest not only in profit, but in people, because true development begins when we all rise together."

The Ogongo Annual Festival serves as a platform for showcasing local talent, innovation, and entrepreneurship, providing opportunities for young people to network and learn from industry experts.

Omusati Governor Immanuel Shikongo welcomed government support for such initiatives.

"During the festival, SMEs showcase their products and services, exchanging business ideas and building partnerships. The event promotes cultural expression, youth empowerment and community development through entertainment, exhibitions and networking opportunities."

N$58,000 was raised, with the organisers calling for more support.
