The Okahandja Municipality was presented with a new fire station during a ceremony held at the facility, signifying advancement in enhancing the emergency response capabilities within the town.

Speaking at the handover, the mayor of Okahandja, Beatrice Kotungondo, said that, although this was not an official opening, the initiative served as a testament to the dedication of the municipality to safeguarding its neighbourhoods.

Kotungondo further stated that the completed project will make the incoming council members' jobs easier.

The contract was awarded in April last year, and construction commenced in June of the same year.

The completion period was June this year; however, due to issues experienced, it was only completed in September.
