The Director of Education for the Ohangwena Region, Isak Hamatwi, has called on staff to build on initiatives that are already delivering results, while also introducing fresh strategies and innovative approaches to improve performance in the region.
Addressing education staff during the New Year kick-off and wellness day held recently in Eenhana, Hamatwi underscored the importance of unity, collaboration and shared responsibility in achieving the directorate's success.
"Our core business is the provision of education to the Ohangwena child, a Namibian child. Suffice to say, education delivery is not confined to the classroom alone. It's supported and sustained by many compartments within this directorate. Though our roles differ, our contribution is equal in value. The learners' performance in the classroom is the final product of our collective efforts. Therefore, we shall rise together, and if we fall, we fall together. That is why teamwork is not an option here; it is essential."
Hamatwi also used the platform to commend staff members for their dedication and hard work, including those who joined the directorate from mid last year. He encouraged them to embrace innovation and remain resilient despite emerging challenges.
"We appreciate the confidence you have placed in this directorate by choosing to serve here. You are most welcome to team Ohangwena, a team known for resilience, perseverance and commitment to duty even under difficult conditions in the jungle out there, in the sandy roads, in the Mundy roads in the west, so despite those difficult conditions, we persevere. The year 2026 comes to us as a new opportunity, an opportunity renewed for us to accomplish what we could not achieve last year, to refine and perfect what we started and to introduce new ideas and better approaches."
