President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has reaffirmed Namibia's belief that diplomacy, dialogue, and effective multilateralism remain indispensable.

This comes at a time when the international system is under increasing strain from geopolitical rivalries and economic fragmentation.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah argues that, as a nation born out of multilateralism, Namibia continues to engage constructively in regional and international organisations.

These include SADC, the African Union, the Commonwealth and the United Nations.

Within the SADC region, the Head of State says Namibia continues to place high value on its longstanding relationships within the bloc.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah also reflected on Namibia's bilateral engagements over the past year, which she says demonstrated growing international interest in the country.

In January 2025, China's Foreign Minister and Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Wang Yi, made Namibia the first stop of his annual visit to Africa.

India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, also paid a state visit to Namibia in July last year, marking the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

According to the President, these engagements demonstrate strategic commitment as the country positions itself as a reliable partner in a rapidly changing global order.
