The mayor of Okakarara in the Otjozondjupa Region, Siegfried Tjehiua, has expressed satisfaction with the land servicing aimed at transforming the town, which includes the development of a Central Business District (CBD).
"Our CBD is currently undergoing electrification. We have approximately 70 business erven in that area that are ready for sale. We need to determine their pricing and other related details, after which we will inform the public. Anyone interested in establishing a business in Okakarara will soon be able to purchase an erf in that area, which is almost ready for use."
Tjehiua explained that the new CBD will have all business services in one area, as the existing one was not properly planned.
"It was established randomly and haphazardly, and now we aim to create a central location where all related services can be found." Tjehiua further explained that this process will ensure that people "can easily access services and, at the same time, trace and enquire with others. Where can I find what? Where? No, no, no. We want to bring all these services under one roof or at one point for better accessibility."
The mayor added that the council has also made progress in paving gravel roads with potholes.
