The body of an unidentified man was found inside a water treatment machine at the City of Windhoek's Gammams Water Care Works on Sunday.

The body was discovered by a security officer during a routine patrol at the facility, who immediately alerted the authorities.

Police have since taken over the scene and opened an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and how he ended up inside the machine.

The City of Windhoek has urged the public to allow the investigation to continue unhindered.
