The Namibian police's Women Network in the Zambezi region commemorated 16 years of its existence.
The event held at Katima Mulilo was held under the theme "Honouring the past, empowering the future of women".
The network over the years has answered the call of many needy community members, and the celebration aimed at acknowledging those successes.
NamPol's Chief Inspector Betro Bona said the theme emphasises the need to appreciate those who paved the way before them for women in law enforcement to be heard.
She added that the forum has achieved great strides, with a significant number of women now in managerial and administrative positions.
"In the past, only a few women were in managerial leadership positions. So it is a joyful thing to see this space filled with many brilliant, passionate and inspiring women not only gathered for an event but also to create connections. New partnerships and breakthrough ideas that will create parts of networking opportunities in order to shape our future."
Bona added that the inclusion and support from their male counterparts have been essential in building an inspiring policing environment.
Chief Inspector Aldenia Malumo said the women's network was more than a list of names but a vital chain advocating for progress.
"Let us leave here with the courage to take up space, to speak our truth and to open doors for those who came after us. Let us be the women and the allies who don't just break glass ceilings but build new structures where everyone can thrive."
