The Tses Village Council has decided to terminate the employment of its Chief Executive Officer, Fritz Christiaan, two weeks prior to the expiration of his contract. 

The Council cited alleged undermining of authority, tender ward irregularities, absenteeism, and failure to implement its decisions to end Christiaan's contract. 

Christiaan was serving his second five-year employment as the council's CEO. 

Residents on Friday petitioned for the removal of Christiaan with immediate effect, saying they have lost confidence in his leadership.  

The Chairperson of the Tses Village Council, Lena Araes, stated, "We have been in office for approximately nine to ten months. However, nothing has transpired in terms of development. The Village Council has stagnated due to a lack of cooperation from the CEO. For the past six to seven months, we have struggled to get him to work with us. The most significant issue is absenteeism; he is not consistently present at work."

Araes indicated that the council requested the ||Kharas Regional Council to assign a senior staffer to serve as acting CEO. 

Christiaan confirmed having received the employment contract termination letter, saying the move came as no surprise.  

"In May, I received a letter stating that my contract would not be renewed, which I accepted. However, no reasons were provided for this decision. The law clearly stipulates that an employer must give reasons for non-renewal. Then, all of a sudden, the terms and conditions that were outlined three months prior were changed without informing me. I was initially fine with the non-renewal, but now the terms have shifted, and I am being told that my employment is being terminated based on these new allegations."

Christiaan denied the allegations levelled against him and noted he was consulting his lawyers on the matter.
