Discussions on the Petroleum Amendment bill in the National Assembly reached a standstill after members of the opposition staged a walk-out.
This followed the Speaker’s call for a division of the house for the voting to take place on the proposed bill.
The walk-out by the opposition left the house without a quorum to carry out the voting process, which prompted the Speaker to adjourn the house until tomorrow.
The bill has been facing stern resistance from the opposition since its tabling by Minister of Mines and Energy Modestus Amutse.
