Australia has commended Namibia's ambitions to be a leader in clean energy provision and in decarbonizing.
Australia's outgoing Head of Mission revealed this when she bid farewell to President Hage Geingob at State House.
The Australian company specialising in green energy production, Fortescue Future Industries, was one of the companies that submitted its bid to construct the mega green hydrogen plant when the government put out the request for proposals last year.
Though Fortescue Future Industries was not selected as the preferred bidder, President Geingob told the Australian diplomat the company is eager to partner with the government in infrastructure development.
The Australian government commended Namibia for being a front-runner in global efforts to address climate change.
The Australian High Commissioner, who is ending her tour of diplomatic duty, also outlined activities undertaken to strengthen relations with Namibia.
