As the nation edges closer to the festive season, public roads countrywide will see an increase in the volume of traffic on national roads.

The Road Authority Manager for Accidents and Injury Preventions Jones Lutombi, revealed that Namibia has one the highest statistics of road accidents compared to other countries. 

As people start to travel to their various destinations this festive season, Lutombi warns motorists against reckless driving.
 
He warned long-distance bus drivers to get ample rest in between before continuing their journey and not depend on energy drinks.

ABEL MUUBU
Abel Muubu the National Advisor of Namibia Public Passenger Transportation Association warned members not to overindulge when in it comes to the consumption of alcohol during the festive season.  Mubu also urged drivers to always plan their trips beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.

Oscar Njubehi, a taxi driver and one of the trainees who completed the defensive driving training driving was very satisfied saying it was a worthwhile exercise as he has learned a lot of things that he never knew before.
