Slow uptake of duplicate voter cards in Maltahöhe, Gibeon

As Namibians gear up for the polls, the duplication of voter cards is moving slowly in the village towns of Maltahöhe and Gibeon. Local officials say fewer than five residents in each town have come forward to apply since the process began.

Tsumkwe settlement home to 2,000 residents but only 95 hold land leases

The Tsumkwe settlement is home to about 600 households with more than 2,000 residents. However, only 95 residents hold land lease agreements with the council. 

A local businesswoman told NBC News that she has been denied access to a portion of land she previously occupied.
