Spar Namibia Women's Race: Shivolo wins 10km event in Windhoek

Martha Shivolo emerged victorious in the Spar Namibia Women's Race 10km event held in Windhoek, showcasing her talent and determination on the track.

The race saw a notable increase in participants, with nearly 1000 runners taking on the challenge at the Wanderers Sports Stadium.

In addition to the competitive 10km race, runners also enjoyed the 5km fun run, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.

Three Namibian marathon runners missed the top 20 at the Zurich Seville Marathon in Spain, raising concerns for Olympic qualification.

Olympic aspirations turned to disappointment for the three Namibian long-distance runners at the Zurich Seville Marathon, as none managed to crack the top 20, casting doubt on their Paris dreams.

Helalia Johannes, a seasoned athlete with four Olympic appearances and a decorated career, along with Alina Armas and Daniel Paulus, represented Namibia in the 42-kilometer race.

SHIVOLO AND SHALIAXWE WIN THE 2023 NAVACHAB HALF MARATHON

Under the beautiful clear skies and with perfect road running conditions, the 9th edition of this highly anticipated annual competition mesmerized both participants and spectators. The half marathon showcased some incredible talent, with Hamutwa Shikongo from Kavango East initially taking the lead and capturing everyone's attention for the first 14 kilometers. However, as his energy dwindled, he was eventually overtaken by Shaliaxwe and Matheus from the Namibian Police, who showcased their exceptional skills and determination. 

Rainhold and Armas wins Rössing Marathon

Tomas Rainhold and Alina Armas were crowned  Rössing National Marathon 2023 champions in Swakopmund on Saturday. 

The 2023 edition of the Rössing marathon held at the coastal town of Swakopmund yesterday, saw a record number of more than 800 athletes taking part in their respective categories. 

This year marks the return of the event in its original format, after the 2021 and 2022 editions took place virtually due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
