Namibia seeks to propel itself in the realm of space science, technology, and innovation.

Higher Education Minister Dr. Itah Kandjii-Murangi on Wednesday announced a six-member Space Science Council.

The Council will advise the National Commission on Research, Science, and Technology (NCRST) on space science and technology-related matters.

The main function of the Council is to advise the NCRST on the development and implementation of a national space science and technology agenda in all relevant sectors. 

Gobabis Vocational Training Centre receives solar PV plant

The German government has installed a solar PV plant at the Gobabis Vocational Training Centre to sustain the centre's electricity supply as part of the social-economic progression.

The solar plant project cost N$4.1 million.

The Director of Technical Vocational Education and Training in the Ministry of Higher Education, Innovation, and Technology, Muvatere Siririka, urged the centre to take care of the facility.

Namibians urged to prioritise social cohesion

The Deputy Minister of Information, Communication, and Technology, Emma Theofilus, has urged Namibians to prioritise social cohesion as a crucial goal.

Theofilus made these remarks during the official opening of the 7th edition of the annual Oranjemund Diamond Festival and Career Fair.

The annual Diamond Festival is a platform for businesses to showcase their services and products and, at the same time, engage investors.

This year's festival is being held under the theme 'Creating a sustainable future through economic diversification'. 

Namibia celebrates Worker's Day

A number of local companies took to social media to celebrate and appreciate their employees on Worker's Day.

Namibia Wildlife Resorts, showing true hospitality, served their employees with a heartfelt message hailing them as hardworking heroes who shape their communities.

Namibia University of Science and Technology, on the other hand, took the manual route, depicting construction workers with a thank you for Workers' Day.
