Namibia's progress in gender equality took the spotlight at the 149th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Geneva, where the National Council’s Vice-Chairperson Victoria Kauma emphasised the country's efforts through initiatives like the National Gender Policy and the Rural Women Parliament. 

Next week, leaders from around the world will participate at the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.

The assembly will be held from May 27 to June 1, 2024, under the theme 'Health Assembly is: All for Health, Health for All'.

The Minister of Health and Social Services Dr. Kalumbi Shangula says, although the World Health Organisation has declared the end of the COVID-19 pandemic as a global health emergency, and Namibia has seen a decline in the positive rate, the country will not ignore its existence.
