Oshikoto Biomass Power Station Project breaks ground

Construction of the Oshikoto Biomass Power Station Project, valued at N$2.3 billion and located near Tsumeb, is set to begin following a recent ground-breaking ceremony. 

This power station will generate 40 megawatts of baseload electricity, significantly enhancing Namibia's energy security. 

Cenored customers warned to get TID compliant

Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (Cenored) is calling on its clients to ensure that their prepaid meters are Token Identifier (TID) compliant.

The deadline for updating the meters is November 24.

Out of 54,000 prepaid Cenored meters, about 52,000 are updated to TID.

Speaking at the Tsumeb Copper Festival, Deputy Minister of Industrialisation and Trade Verna Sinimbo said the youth are required to acquire these skills for Namibia to become an industrialised nation.
