The Public Service Commission has referred back the ||Kharas Regional Council's appointment recommendation of a chief regional officer.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Edward Wambo, has reminded staff members about the central role they play in service delivery to the masses.

Wambo was on a familiarisation visit to the Omaheke Region.

Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge has officially launched the Oshana Regional Council Strategic Plan (2025-2030) and Customer Service Charter while calling on public servants to do more and talk less in serving communities.

The Vice President has appealed to workplaces, including government ministries and agencies, to create wellness spaces for employees. 

The Governor of Hardap, Riaan McNab, has urged regional political and administrative leadership to prioritise economic development for the betterment of communities they serve. 

He made the call while addressing the Hardap Regional Council meeting. 

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed economist Shali Shindume as her Economic Advisor, effective from June 1st.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Lucia Iipumbu, has called for discipline and professionalism at the border posts.

Iipumbu made the call as she prepared to visit various border posts and the ministry's projects in the Zambezi Region.

Solidarity messages were also conveyed from the African Union, United Nations and African Association for Public Administration and Management.

They emphasised the need to professionalise the public service and enhance digitalisation and inclusivity. 

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has emphasised the need to strengthen accountability, oversight and ethical leadership in public service for sustainable development. 

Dr Ngurare made the remarks at the 2nd African Management Development Institutes Network conference in Windhoek. 

New members of the National Council delivered their maiden speeches, pledging loyalty, dignity, commitment, and accountability in their service.
