Miss Namibia 2026, Charene Labuschagne has called on Namibians to work alongside her as she strives to become a better ambassador during her tenure.

Learners, teachers, and parents came together at Tsumkwe Primary School to celebrate Namibia's 36th Independence Day.

Speaking at the event was the Head of Department at Tsumkwe Primary School, Caiphus Kahaka.

Preparations are currently underway for the regional independence celebrations in the Zambezi Region, with the regional preparatory committee saying arrangements are at an advanced stage.

Namibians are urged to be torchbearers of the country's heritage in their everyday lives. 

As Namibia was preparing for its 35th Independence celebration last Friday, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in the Erongo Region was ensuring that all citizens feel included in the nation's progress. 

A burial at Heroes' Acre, the country's official national shrine, is reserved for individuals who have been formally recognised as national heroes by the government.
