Learners, teachers, and parents came together at Tsumkwe Primary School to celebrate Namibia's 36th Independence Day.

Speaking at the event was the Head of Department at Tsumkwe Primary School, Caiphus Kahaka.

"Namibia gained its freedom after a long and difficult struggle. Brave men and women sacrificed their comfort, their families and even their lives so that we could live in a country where every child has the right to learn, to dream and to succeed."

He added that learners are the future of Namibia and should respect one another and work together to build a stronger nation.

"Namibian independence. Namibia is as free and strong as it can be. We raise our flag high; let it be in the sky. We live together as one under our very bright sun. We celebrate this special day."

The celebration featured various performances by learners, showcasing Namibia's rich cultural diversity.

Learners from both lower and upper grades also participated by reading poems that highlighted the importance of independence, freedom, and national pride.

Teachers at the school encouraged learners to understand the significance of Independence Day and to appreciate the sacrifices made for the country's freedom.
