The Motor Vehicle Accident Fund says it continues to seek innovative ways to impart road safety education to learners who are the future of Namibia.

The MVA-Fund sponsored a secondary school's road safety debate at Rundu.

A local shop in Rundu, Kavango East Region, donated food and merchandise to the Cocoma Primary School, located some 160 kilometres east of Rundu.

The donation follows a request by the school principal for assistance to the vulnerable children living in a deplorable hostel at the school.

The Rundu Town Council has expressed its desire to exit its partnership with the Northern Regional Electricity Distributor.

At a stakeholders' consultation meeting with the Electricity Control Board, Mayor Gabriel Kanyanga said NORED's services to the town were poor.

The Electricity Control Board (ECB) wants to activate a power outage reporting mechanism for all stakeholders at Rundu in the Kavango East Region.

The reporting mechanism will ensure that the ECB does not rely on power generators and distributors for scheduled and unplanned outages.

The Roads Authority launched the nationwide clean-up campaign of the national road reserves at Rundu in the Kavango East Region on Thursday.

The campaign aims to sensitise all road users and communities on the sustainable benefits of keeping road reserves clean and taking care of the environment. 

Hundreds of trainees from the Tukurenu Community Skills Development Centre at Rundu staged a demonstration demanding payment of their residue funds.
