Ondonga TA will not permit revival churches to proliferate uncontrollably

The Omukwaniilwa of the Ondonga Traditional Authority, Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo, says the traditional authority will not allow the unregulated mushrooming of revival churches in areas under its jurisdiction.

Shuumbwa made these remarks during an annual stakeholder engagement meeting at Onambango Palace.

Omukwaniilwa Shuumbwa alleges some revival churches are becoming a concern as they are destroying families and openly accusing people of witchcraft without providing any evidence to back up such claims.

Oshana enjoys safer festive season thus far

There were no major crimes recorded during the kick-off of this year's festive season in the Oshana Region.

This was stated by Oshana Police Commander Commissioner Naftal Lungameni Sakaria in an interview with nbc News.

"So far, we want to thank everyone because the behaviours are good, we don't have major issues that are reported to us, no major serious crimes apart from two housebreakings, one for the business premises and one for a house, we do not really meet some serious other crimes, so to speak."

Oshana Police on the hunt for serial rapist

The Oshana Police are urgently appealing to members of the public for their assistance in apprehending a man believed to be a serial rapist.

According to authorities, the suspect is described as a tall male with a brown complexion and a noticeable gap between his front teeth.

He was last seen wearing a white round-neck t-shirt, blue jeans, and carrying a black bag with the brand name "Ellesse."

Chinese national robbed off N$600 thousand at Ondangwa

Police in the Oshana Region are investigating a robbery with aggravating circumstances that occurred when three men robbed a Chinese national at Ondangwa.

The robbery took place at the Okapana service station in Ondangwa when three men, two of them armed with pistols, attacked a Chinese national who was filling up his car.

Before fleeing the scene, they robbed him of a cell phone valued at more than N$14,000 and cash worth more than N$600,000.

The suspects fled with a rented sedan, which was later found abandoned at the Kalapuse guest house at Okandjengedi.

Commissioner Naftal Sakaria urges businesses to be cautious as fraud cases increase

Oshana Police Regional Commander, Commissioner Naftal Sakaria, has cautioned businesses to ensure they double-check payments and confirm the availability of funds in their accounts before releasing goods. 


His caution comes in the wake of an increase in fraudulent cases reported in the region, where a syndicate is believed to be swindling businesses through dubious means.

Three men were arrested this week after a successful sting operation by Ondangwa Police, who intercepted their dealings.
