Eduaction key to preparing learners for green hydrogen opportunities

Education is the key to accessing opportunities for development presented by both the Namibian government and through the country's natural resources.

This was said by Swapo Party member Verna Sinimbo at Sifuha Village in the Zambezi Region.

Addressing community members at Sinufa village as the political leader assigned to the Kabbe North district in the Zambezi Region, Sinimbo underlined the importance of education in preparing children to take advantage of opportunities in the fields, especially green hydrogen, and the oil and gas industry in Namibia.

Swapo Party ready to continue improving people's living standard

Former Governor of the Erongo Region, Samuel Nuuyoma, says the Swapo Party is determined and ready to improve the living conditions of Namibians because that is the reason the party fought and sacrificed to liberate the country.

Nuuyoma made the remarks at a mini rally at Swakopmund, where he handed over cards to new members.

According to him, Swapo's plan for a better Namibia is not lost because the party will use available resources to realise that dream.

Swapo Party members in Kapako accuse leadership of discrimination

Some Swapo Party members in Kapako in the Kavango West Region are accusing the leadership of discrimination and intimidation. 

The SPYL District Secretary for Kapako says, even though Valentinus Munkara was elected as the district coordinator last year, the Secretary General's office recognises Maurus Nekaro instead. A decision that they reject. 

During a media briefing at Kapako over the weekend, SPYL District Secretary of Kapako, Stefanus Kudumo, said the party leadership is undermining the democratic rights of its members. 

Swapo Party celebrates return of more than 180 members at Malengalenga in Zambezi

190 people at Malengalenga in Linyanti district joined the Swapo Party from other political parties.

The members were received by Swapo Party Secretary General Sofia Shaningwa on Saturday late afternoon at Malengalenga. 

Most of the members came from the Independence Patriots for Change (IPC), while others supported an independent candidate during the last elections. 

The returning members said they were back home to the party of their forefathers, fathers, mothers, and brothers.

Deputy Speaker Loide Kasingo leads delegation to Pan-African Parliament session

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Loide Kasingo, is heading a delegation to the Extraordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Pan-African Parliament at the parliament's headquarters in Midrand, South Africa. 

The session is scheduled to run from March 20th to March 27th, 2024.

The purpose of the Extraordinary Session is to conduct elections to fill vacant positions in the Bureau of the Pan-African Parliament. 

The election is scheduled to occur on Monday next week.

Swapo Party Member urges campaign for majority in November elections

Swapo Party Politburo and Central Committee member, Lucia Witbooi, has urged party members to campaign for an outright majority in the November national elections. 

She made the call at the opening of the ||Kharas Swapo Party regional executive meeting in Keetmanshoop.

Witbooi further encouraged all eligible voters to re-register to participate in the upcoming elections.

Late Colonel Peter Iindongo buried

Scores of mourners converged at Oshihenge cemetery in the Oshakati constituency of the Oshana region to pay their last respects to the late Colonel Peter Iindongo, a veteran of the liberation struggle who died on February 22 at the age of 64.

Iindongo was accorded an official funeral and has been described as an outstanding Swapo Party veteran who was selfless and drawn to the ideals of the liberation movement from an early age during his memorial service held at his homestead.

Swapo Party reaffirms Nandi-Ndaitwah as Presidential candidate

The Swapo Party Central Committee clarified its decision about its presidential candidate for the November 2024 elections. 

The committee confirmed Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah as the Presidential candidate of the party, a position she automatically acquired as the party's Vice President and the sole candidate at the 2022 Congress.
