Collective efforts needed to fight corruption- Frederick

||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick has reiterated that collective efforts are needed to fight corruption, thereby maintaining a healthy nation. 

She was speaking at a regional stakeholders meeting that deliberated on the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan Implementation at Keetmanshoop. 

Frederick says the regional platform was created to share information and engage stakeholders regarding the progress of implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan. 

||Kharas youth praised for striving towards achieving economic independence

||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick has praised the youth of Bethanie Village for constantly striving towards achieving economic independence.

Addressing guests at a fundraising dinner, Frederick said it was pleasing to see that young people realised they needed to do more to provide solutions to their daily life challenges.

The dinner was organised by the Begin to Imagine youth group to raise funds for their planned Youth Talent Expo at the tiny settlement next month.

||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick has distributed assorted baby items to mothers of newborn babies at Bethanie Village, courtesy of the Office of the First Lady.

45 mothers benefited from the donation, which included wipes, nappies, facecloths, baby oil, blankets, towels, and bags.

Frederick encouraged all government institutions, offices, ministries, and agencies as well as the private sector to come on board and make sure that all Namibians have access to services, resources, and information.

Entrepreneurs urged to acquaint themselves with the AfCFTA

||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick is calling on local entrepreneurs to take responsibility for their own understanding of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

Speaking at the launch of a ||Kharas Regional awareness-raising campaign in Keemanshoop, she said the free trade zone offers numerous benefits if properly utilized.

The Namibia Trade Agency, under the UNDP support program, organised the awareness drive on AfCFTA, which aims to boost intra-African trade by eliminating barriers to trade on the continent.

Economic statistics critical for decision making of policymakers and implementers

The Namibia Statistic Agency has underlined the importance of economic statistics as a critical tool for supporting the decision-making of policymakers and implementers.

Statistician-General Alex Shimuafeni made the remarks at the ||Kharas Regional stakeholder workshop on economic statistics held at Keetmanshoop.

NSA facilitated the workshop to create awareness of the different economic indicators it produces and its use thereof.

The agency has embarked on a drive to host similar workshops countrywide to enhance the use of economic statistics.
