A young entrepreneur from Gobabis has called on other unemployed youth to come up with businesses rather than waiting to be employed.

UNFPA, the Office of the Governor and the Omaheke Regional Council handed over food parcels to marginalized communities in Gobabis.

This is part of the initiative by Governor Pijoo Nganate to curb malnutrition in the region.

The National Housing Enterprise (NHE) is currently constructing 65 houses at Gobabis, 50 at Omuthiya, 70 at Okahao, 33 at Tsandi, and 24 at Ondangwa.

The houses will be constructed predominantly through phase 2 of the NHE’s turnkey construction model (RFP) and are expected to cost N$75 million.

These remarks were made during the official launch of the Omaheke Regional Youth Business Trade Expo at Gobabis.

When mental health affects individuals, it is one of the conditions that result in decreased productivity at work or at home; thus, there is a need for collaborative efforts to assist those suffering from the illness.

The Omaheke Region to date has 3800 HIV-positive people. 

Speaking during a Regional Aids Coordinating Committee workshop at Gobabis, the Regional HIV Clinical Mentor, Dr Francois Lumbala, says through coordination and stakeholders' engagement, the region can greatly reduce HIV/AIDS among communities.
