The governments of Namibia and Zambia have signed an agreement to facilitate the construction of a pipeline for oil and gas products.

The pipeline project, which will be led by the private sector, is expected to address energy poverty in Southern Africa.

The agreement was signed at the 10th session of the Namibia-Zambia Joint Permanent Commission on Co-operation at Swakopmund.

The oil and gas pipeline will stretch from Zambia to the port of Walvis Bay, promoting the harbour as a logistics hub in Southern Africa.

Namibia and Zambia are expected to sign an oil and gas agreement for the private sector to implement a pipeline project from Walvis Bay to Zambia.
 
The governments will sign the agreement at the 10th session of the Namibia-Zambia Joint Permanent Commission, currently underway at Swakopmund.

A Namibian Broadcasting Corporation employee, Richolene Ouses, has been selected to take part in a seven-day SADC cultural family exchange reality show, scheduled to start this week.

The cultural switch programme is an initiative of the Southern African Broadcasting Association (SABA).

A call was made for interested Namibians who are keen on taking part in the cultural family exchange reality show, where two families from Namibia and Zambia will switch places and experience the social and environmental exchange.
