MICT introduces Digital Literacy Programme

As the world moves toward digitalization, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology has introduced a Digital Literacy Program.

The program was launched by ICT's Deputy Minister Emma Theofelus at Tsumkwe in the Otjozondjupa Region, and it will be rolled out to other regions during the pilot phase.

Speaking during her engagement with Ohangwena Governor Walde Ndevashiya, Theophilus says the Digital Literacy Program aims to equip Namibians with computer literacy.

Social justice academic urges government to speedily operationalize new Access to Information Act

A social justice academic has cautioned the government not to delay the operationalization of Namibia's new Access to Information Act, which promises to promote transparency, accountability and good governance.

Namibia's long-awaited Access to Information Act was promulgated and published in the Government Gazette in December last year. 

The law provides the right of access to information to both public and private entities. 

However, the provisions of this statute are yet to be operationalized.

Okahao Summer Festival Underway

The maiden Okahao Summer Festival, which is being hosted at the town's trade fair grounds, attracted 66 exhibitors from across the country.

The festival provides a venue for small and medium-sized businesses and corporations to showcase their products and services, as well as an opportunity for them to learn from one another.
